About the event
Join us on World Preeclampsia Day May 22, 2023, 7 PM CDT/8 PM EDT for an informative and engaging conversation. Register now to secure your spot at this online event, as space is limited! Announcing an exclusive event for all those interested in Preeclampsia, Eclampsia & HELLP Syndrome, maternal health, and ethical research in pregnancy!
Join us for an intimate discussion about the future of preeclampsia management and treatment, biomarker testing for sFlt-1 (soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1), and a promising investigational therapy the FDA has recently cleared to begin first-in-human studies. Biomarker testing will be crucial for identifying pregnancies at risk of developing preeclampsia and the basis for receiving therapies. The event will delve into the pressing issues of ethical research in pregnancy, ethical and informed consent, what preeclampsia research looks like today, the development of an investigational therapy, and how it's expected to work in pregnancy. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from the experts in the field and ask any questions you may have about the future of preeclampsia management and treatment.
EndPreeclampsia's Founder, Kara Boeldt, will lead the conversation with some of the top scholars, researchers, and physicians in maternal health, including members of EndPreeclampsia's Medical Advisory Board: Dr. Mark Santillan, MD, Ph.D. (MFM) from the University of Iowa, Dr. Tom McElrath, MD, Ph.D. (MFM) from Harvard University, and Dr. Donna Santillan, Ph.D. (preeclampsia researcher and associate professor of reproductive science) from the University of Iowa. Additionally, we are honored to welcome our special guest speaker, Dr. Maggie Little, Ph.D., a Professor of Ethics at Georgetown University whose research interests include reproductive health and who has long promoted responsible research into the health needs of pregnant people.
